VIA launches VX800 for Ultra Mobile Devices (UMPC PORTAL)

Eee PC900やMSIのWindPC、ECSのG10ILなど、今年はUMPCの豊作年であることはDOS/Vラボでも以前からお伝えしてきましたが、
IntelのCentrino2プラットフォームへの対抗馬？としてVIAからVX800というUMPC向けチップセットが発表されました。

このチップセットなおもな特徴としては

• High Performance 3D Graphics: The VIA Chrome9邃｢ HC3 integrated graphics core boasts full DirectX 9.0 support
  高いパフォーマンスをもつ3D描画 DirectX9.0準拠の「Chrome9」というグラフィックコアを搭載。
• Powerful Image Enhancement Technology: The VIA Chromotion邃｢ video engine delivers a Hi-Def邃｢ visual experience, including advanced video acceleration forﾂꀀ MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV9, VC1 and DiVX video formats, plus a VMR capable HD video processor.
  動画再生支援機能を内包。MPEG-2,MPEG-4,WMV9,DivXやHD動画の再生をハードウェアで支援しCPU負荷を減らす。

  CRTモニタ用の端子を準備。

  SDIOスロット搭載、SDカード、MMC,MSメモリなどに対応。

というような具合で、オールインワンチップセットをうたっているようです。

個人的に興味があるのは動画再生支援機能ですかね。UMPCだとどうしても動画再生が弱いことが多いので、
どの程度までいけるのかが気になります。
